"I’m Leaving on a Jet-Plane...."

Updated: Mar 8, 2023

Oh goodie, goodie, goodie - we are heading to Paris this afternoon. I feel like a little girl getting ready for a big treat!

Giverny 1999

It has been 20 years since we last went to Paris. My husband and I had been only dating 3 months (please don’t tell my kids). It was totally out of character for me as I had become terribly jaded from the ups and downs of single life and traveling that soon with a new squeeze was a stretch. And traveling out of the country - out of the question but, it was everything I hoped for and, as they say, the rest is history. This time the finale of our current trip is a wedding! ‘Can’t get too much more romantic than that! This time the finale of the trip is a wedding! 'Can’t get too much more romantic than that!

We are taking a Seine River tour for a week and the ship reverses in Normandy. As you may know, I am a WWII geek and am really excited to see the site of that infamous battle. Of course, we will go back to Giverny and also Paris for a few glorious days! I have also been following Ina’s (Garten - Barefoot Contessa’s ) comments about where to find great food in Paris, so of course we will check out the food scene too.

The only tiny problem...is that after a very successful couple of weeks on Weight Watchers (I am still 10 pounds more than the photo above) I am not sure how I am going to manage to keep what I lost off.... It may be hard to continue to count points and I’m not sure how I am going to resist the croissants...with fresh preserves! Well, I will worry about that later. The French and Italians were eating farm to table centuries before it became a trend here in the US, so I have to believe there will be lots of great options.

“I’m ready to go, my bags are packed..... “ Look for some nice pics on Facebook!

Au Revoir!
